Saskatchewan Prayer Breakfast
Tickets are on sale now for the 51st Annual Saskatchewan Prayer Breakfast, April 19th at 8 a.m. at Conexus Arts Centre in Regina.
The breakfast will be hosted by Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty with participation by provincial and local leaders. This year’s inspirational speaker is Regina’s own Carol LaFayette-Boyd.
Carol is a former psychiatric nurse and social worker and is the current Executive Director of the Saskatchewan African Canadian Heritage Museum. She is also an elite athlete. Carol decided at the age of 50 to participate in a Masters Track Meet and she has been hooked ever since. At the age of 80, Carol has been named the World Masters Athletics “Female Athlete of the Year” for the second time in her career! In 2022, she broke six world records in the W80+ age category (two indoor and four outdoor)!
Carol has a story to tell. She says: “Nothing is impossible, if you think you can, you can. Never give up, keep going… I tell them my experience of running my first 200 at age 50 with a time of 32.72 and 15 years later at age 65 running the 200 in 29.66.”
