Belton went to Mississippi College (Ole Miss) where he played Offensive Tackle. During his four seasons in college he was a key protector of standout QB Eli Manning through Manning’s junior season at Ole Miss. He helped Rebels allowed 50 sacks in 4 seasons’s 1999-2002 lowest total in any Southeastern Conference.  As a senior, he was credited with key blocks on 2 TDs as Rebels beat Mississippi State to become bowl eligible, then had two more TD-producing blocks in Independence Bowl win over Nebraska. 

Belton was with the Cincinnati Bengals before coming to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2006 to 2009. He then played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for two years before finishing his football career in 2012 with the Edmonton Eskimos.

Belton now makes Regina his home and is currently working for Saskatchewan Government Insurance. He's married to Robin Johnson & has 2 boys (Tyler & Maximus). Belton has a younger brother (Marcus) whom played 7 years in the NFL & is now coaching the offensive line at Duke University. Belton's mother (Glenda Smith) and step father (Willie) reside in his hometown of Coffeeville, MS. His niece London Johnson resides in Miami, FL. Belton is also an air radio personality that talks Rider football for Newstalk 980 CJME, The Greenzone. Belton is also the Perks Partner Program Chairman of the Saskatchewan Roughrider Alumni Association. In his spare time he enjoys being with family, watching movies, & going to church.
